Bournemouth is home to 19 thousand students, making up around 10% of the population, and it’s not hard to see why.
In addition to students at Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth (AUB), there’s the AECC University College, a specialist university for a range of health science disciplines, along with a plethora of language schools.
Students are often attracted not only by beach and water sports, but by the relaxed atmosphere and vibrant nightlife. The universities are within easy reach of the New Forest National Park and of the largest natural harbour in Europe, Poole Harbour.
With arts and media high on the agenda, and around 1,500 International students, from around 130 different countries, the place has an attractive cosmopolitan vibe. The university actively encourages students to study or volunteer overseas in order not only to gain life skills, but also to experience other cultures.
It’s coming to the time of year when students need to think about where to put their things over the summer months while they either go home or go travelling, when new foreign students need to think about shipping their possessions in ready for the start of the next academic year, and when students give up their places in Halls ready to move into house shares or alternative accommodation in the coming academic year wasting money on rent over the summer holidays.

· Nominate one person to coordinate booking, payments, collection etc. (As they are doing all the coordination leg work and shouldering the responsibility, why not split the bill slightly in their favour as a thank you?)
· Make sure you keep a list of exactly what you put in your own boxes;
· Use stickers to identify who’s box is whose;
· Don’t forget to mark up carefully anything that’s fragile or needs keeping a certain way up.
· Agree what date you’ll be taking the boxes out of storage (and where to)
